Our History

 Maxwell C. G. Meighen, son of former Prime Minister, The Right Honourable Arthur Meighen, and his wife Catherine “Taddy” Meighen established the Foundation with an initial gift in 1959.  It has grown significantly since that time and now donates in excess of $4 million annually.  It is managed on a pro-bono basis by Morgan Meighen & Associates Limited.

  The Catherine and Maxwell Meighen Foundation has made an exceptional impact on community and social services and the arts since it was incorporated in 1959.


 The Foundation was created with a mission to focus on charitable works in Ontario, Canada, primarily through the Salvation Army and the arts.

The Letters Patent of the Catherine and Maxwell Meighen Foundation prohibit any potential funding of charitable activities outside of Ontario.
